Things to put on your wishlist that are actually worth getting

The holidays are here, and as my family continues to ask me what I want for my birthday (which is this Sunday) and Christmas, I have completely drawn a blank.

You see, I have plenty of junk things that take up space in my apartment, and I don’t want to ask for something that I will maybe only use once.

Queue my list of things I LOVE and I’d put on my wishlist this year if I didn’t already have them.

So, without wasting any more time, let’s get down to my short list of things you may want for the holidays and beyond. (Please note, these links are affiliates. I get a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you. Seriously. No extra cost. I promise these are actually quality items that I would share with or without the affiliation.)

  • Rocketbook Fusion:https://amzn.to/2Lo2dDS and Pilot Frixon Pens https://amzn.to/2LnNlpj
  • This is my favorite find of 2019. I am 100% serious. While I have a different version of the Rocketbook notebook system, I use it to plan my day, take notes from professional developments, and write anecdotes when my students talk about there favorite performers on PornHub (I wish I was kidding about that). Not only do I feel like I’m saving the planet because each page is completely erasable, but I can also scan each page and assign it to a specific folder in my google drive… or email it to myself. Not only this, but with the text recognition software, it changes my handwriting into text. When I decide to come up with a new movie quiz for TPT and classroom use, I’ll simply use the notebook instead of worrying about the hassle of typing it up while watching the movie. I simply email it to myself and with the text recognition, I can easily convert the text into a word document.

It’s important to note that you can only use these erasable pens on the pages, but they are decent quality. In fact, my students tried to steal them from me today, and I may or may not have promised them a pack of their own for the holidays.

    Blue Light Glasses https://amzn.to/2PbAmrL
There’s real science to back the fact that blue light waves from electronics and artificial light affect our health and the way we sleep. I’m wearing these beauties as I’m typing this. If you have bad vision like me, you don’t want to strain your eyes even further and make your vision worse. These glasses are affordable and come with a blue light tester to show how they work. You won’t be disappointed when you realize you aren’t awake as long as you usually are after staying up late to write lesson plans.
Super Human: The Bulletproof Plan to Age Backward and Maybe Even Live Forever by Dave Asprey  https://amzn.to/2DMoIOK

Yes, the title sounds crazy and almost laughable, but Dave Asprey knows what he is talking about. He was able to reverse his early onset arthritis from his 20s and teaches us that we can age backwards at any age with the right hacks. I’m telling you, as a fellow bio and health nerd, you will be shocked at his findings.

    BEAST 20 oz tumbler https://amzn.to/2sGBdZL

Just as good as a YETI without the price tag. Need I say more?

    Sketchers Boat Shoes https://amzn.to/385sfFD
These shoes have saved me from wanting to cut my feet off during hall duty. They are more professional than sneakers, but also way more comfortable. Seriously they are worth trying.
    131 Method https://amzn.to/2PehwjO

Our health, especially as teachers is super important. Similar to Dave Asprey, Chalene Johnson had her own health scare and created a movement that defies big pharmaceutical companies and focuses on nutrition to reverse aging, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, and other health issues. Additionally, it helps you reduce inflammation and finally get rid of that stubborn weight once and for all. I can feel a huge difference when I follow the program. Read the stories of some of these people and you’ll see how amazing our bodies are when we feed them correctly.
